The decomposed body of a new woman recruit in the Delhi Police constabulary, who was enrolled with the Police Training College here, was found in the fields of Jhajjar village in Haryana under highly mysterious circumstances on Friday. The police are awaiting the post-mortem report. The woman has been identified as Taruna, who was recruited last year for the post of constable. According to sources, she took leave from the PTC on June 13 claiming she had to go to hospital for a check-up. But she did not report back. Enquiries at the hospital revealed that she had not gone there at all, following which a missing report was lodged at the Najafgarh police station. While the police here were trying to trace her, their Haryana counterparts informed them on Friday afternoon that a body, suspected to be of Taruna, had been found in the fields of Chara village in Jhajjar. The police found a mobile phone SIM card in her pocket. From the SIM card they found that it had been issued in the name of Taruna, a resident of Nangloi in West Delhi. "We shared the information with the Delhi police and were told that the body could be that of a recruit who had gone missing on June 13. A Delhi police team came here to investigate the case. The woman's father also came here and identified the body as that of Taruna from a locket, wrist watch and a ring she was wearing," said a Haryana Police officer.
