HYDERABAD: Members of the House Committee on implementation and monitoring of GO 610 called on Assembly Speaker K. R. Suresh Reddy urging him to advise the panel chairman N. Uttam Kumar Reddy to convene a meeting immediately. CPI Floor Leader Chada Venkat Reddy, G. Kishan Reddy (BJP), T. Harish Rao (TRS), Julakanti Ranga Reddy (CPI(M) and Komireddi Ramulu (Janata Party), who met the Speaker in the Assembly on Friday, expressed anguish at the indefinite postponement of the House Committee meetings slated earlier this month. Meetings deferred
They said it was decided by the Committee that it would meet regularly to discuss the implementation of GO 610. However, the meetings had been deferred without any prior notice, while the State Government created further confusion by issuing two controversial GOs 399 and 415, which were subsequently cancelled after strong protests by the Telangana employees unions and political parties. ‘Confused state’
They lamented that by postponing the meetings the members and employees unions were in a state of confusion. Speaking to reporters, Mr. Harish Rao said if the Speaker fails to take action, they would spell out their future course of action on June 19. Mr. Chada Venkata Reddy termed as unfortunate the decision to postpone the meetings. Mr. Ranga Reddy said the Speaker had assured the members that he would discuss the issue with the panel chairman and see that the meetings were resumed.
