KADAPA: Former legislator and district Telugu Desam Party president S. Raghurami Reddy on Friday criticised Mydukur legislator D.L. Ravindra Reddy for accusing him of getting Brahmamgari Matham mandal included in Mydukur constituency. Refuting the MLA’s charges that State Election Commissioner A.V.S. Reddy excluded Brahmamgari Matham from Badvel segment and included it in Mydukur segment on his pressure, Mr. Raghurami Reddy asked Dr. Ravindra Reddy to prove that he was related to the State Election Commissioner. Dr. Reddy, who served as former Revenue Minister ought to be aware of the State Election Commissioner’s sincerity and honesty, the TDP leader said. Delimitation of Assembly and Parliamentary constituencies is being done after a gap of 30 years, Mr. Raghurami Reddy said. Chapadu mandal
Referring to the inclusion of Chapadu mandal in Mydukur constituency, he said Chapadu was part of Mydukur segment, until its inclusion in Proddatur segment in 1977. Dr. Ravindra Reddy unsuccessfully tried to get Chapadu mandal included in Kamalapuram segment, through his relative Gade Venkata Reddy, who was member of the Delimitation Commission, he alleged. Lakkireddipalle constituency was scrapped and several changes were undertaken in the remaining 10 Assembly constituencies, he said.
