Srikakulam
Special Correspondent
Srikakulam: Telugu Desam Party district president and MLA Gouthu Shyamsundar Sivaji and general secretary Kalamata Venkataramana on Friday asserted that the attack on the TDP by Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy was the result of lurking fear that the Congress was losing ground in the district. Speaking to newsmen here, Mr. Sivaji referred to the language used by the Chief Minister and said: “It is improper for a person holding the office of the Chief Minister.” As the principal opposition party, we had pointed out to the Chief Minister, with specific examples, the unfulfilled assurances he had made and sought a response from him. The Chief Minister only repeated the promises he had made, Mr. Sivaji said. White paper
He said that the party had also sought a white paper on the status of projects and schemes promised by the Chief Minister during his visits to the district. “Why are files in respect of districts like Srikakulam not moving as fast as the ones pertaining to Kadapa? Why is Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao, who hailed from the district, silent on this?” they asked.Mr. Venkataramana said that any further delay in taking up repairs to the huge breach to the Vamsadhara riverbank at Vasapa would be disastrous since floods were likely any time.
