Kakinada: The Royal Australian chemical institute will be conducting a National Chemical quiz programme in Kakinada on September 12, according to PVS Machiraju, city quiz coordinator and president Science Vision and chemistry lecturer of PR Government College. He said the quiz was conducted in different countries in the past two and a half decades and as many as 1, 07.064 students attended the quiz last year. The quiz will be conducted for two junior levels, 7, 8 and 9, 10 classes and two senior levels, junior inter and senior inter. He said a student had to answer 30 multiple-choice questions in 60 minutes and it will be in English medium. Stating that participating in the quiz would stimulate younger students making them to realise the important role of chemistry in many of the fundamental processes, which they encounter in their science course and in daily life, he said it would also give international recognition to the participants. He said the students who score 100 percent marks would be presented a ‘special certificate of excellence’ and the first 700 top rankers with ‘ward of excellence’ consisting a plaque.
