Home guard attempts suicide

KARIMNAGAR. A woman home guard reportedly attempted suicide by consuming hair dye in Karimnagar town following alleged harassment by her department seniors over allocation of duties on Friday evening. Police said that Sravanthi, who had worked in the residence of former Karimnagar SP and SP (Intelligence Chief Minister’s security wing) D.S. Chowhan for three months in Hyderabad, was again asked to work in the position for some more time. Ms. Sravanthi, who is writing her distance education examination, had urged senior officers to relieve her from the duties and post her in Karimnagr town. The department officials allegedly used bad language against her and she could not bear the mental torture. She was shifted to hospital and her condition is stated to be out of danger.
