‘India can lead in innovation’

BANGALORE: C.N.R.Rao, National Research Professor and Honorary President, Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Research, Bangalore, said here on Friday, “innovation is a way of life now and humans are innovative by instinct”.

Speaking at the third India Innovation Summit 2007, organised by CII, Prof. Rao said in the Indian context, innovation was necessary for long term and India had the potential to become the innovation and knowledge capital of the world. “India, due its demographic pattern, has the edge to become the youngest country in the region. “Bangalore has been the science capital of India and now the information technology capital.”
