Man held on cheating charge
Staff Reporter
CHENNAI: A man was arrested on charges of cheating a veterinary doctor by promising him a job abroad.
According to an official release, the arrest followed a complaint from S. Krishnakumar (33) of Periyakulam, Theni district, based on which Commissioner of Police Letika Saran directed the Central Crime Branch (job racket wing) to register a case. According to the complainant, he had paid Rs 5 lakh to A.T.M Paramasivam and his son Palaniappan of Saidapet in May 2005, who allegedly promised to get him employment in Saudi Arabia.
No response
The two neither got him the job nor returned the money despite reminders.
Police registered a case against Paramasivam and arrested him. A city court remanded him to judicial custody. Police are on the look out for Palaniappan.
