Bihar MoU on power

PATNA:
The Bihar State Electricity Board on Saturday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Vikash Metal and Power Limited for investment in the private power sector .
The Purulia-based company engaged in steel related productions has decided to venture into the power sector through an investment in Bihar intending to set up two units of 250 MW in Begusarai district and gradually increase the capacity to 2000 MW .
Power Minister for the State, Bijendra Prasad Yadav, said he hoped to discuss the availability of coal for the thermal power station, with the Centre during his meeting on June 20.
The State Government has provided 300 acres of land to PMPL at the rate of Rs. 13.5 lakh per acre.
