MANGALORE: Airports Authority of India has announced two sports schemes for 2007-08 as per its new sports guidelines and the same has been uploaded on its website www.aai.aero. A press release from M.R. Vasudeva, Airport Director, Mangalore Airport here on Friday listed out the two schemes. The first of the schemes is a sports scholarship scheme to enhance sports standards in AAI. Games included in this scheme include football, cricket, volleyball, badminton and table tennis. The second scheme is the sports talent search and training scheme aimed at providing an assistance package to promising sportspersons. Games included in this scheme include archery, athletics, boxing and chess. Sportspersons may submit the applications on or before July 16 to the Secretary, AAI Sports Control Board, AAI, Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan, New Delhi — 110 003. Formats are available on the AAI website.
