Four-stroke lead for Ashok

Ashok Kumar braved the tough course and Digvijay Singh to stay four strokes ahead of the challenge going into the final day of the Rs. 25 lakh ColorPlus Open golf championship at the Golden Greens Golf and Country Club here on Saturday.

On a hot and humid day after heavy showers in the morning, Ashok began as if weather had no bearing on his game. After having charted first two round of 66 and 68, Ashok posted five-under 67 for an aggregate of 15-under 201.

"I will continue to play as I have done for three days. There is no reason for me to change tactics just because I have a good cushion for the lead," said Ashok.

After the abandoned second round was completed early in the morning, Ashok was paired with Digvijay and S.S.P. Chowrasia, the opening day leader.

The day's best card of 66 was brought in by Bhullar, who jumped places to join the leader group for the final day. Bhullar had seven birdies and one bogey for his round giving himself a chance for an impressive finish on the 10th leg of the PGTI Tour event.
