NEW DELHI: Jamia Millia Islamia is offering a number of new courses from the upcoming academic session and the one that has drawn a large number of hopefuls is M. Tech. in nanotechnology. The seat intake for this programme is 15 and it is among the handful of self-financing courses being offered at the University. The course aims to combine the necessary scientific rigour with industrial relevance. It is designed as a series of lecture modules covering the technologies used to design, realise and analyse the micro and nano-scale devices, materials and systems, coupled with general and technology management. The lectures will be supported by project work undertaken on both individual and group basis and conducted in collaboration with the industry. On completion of the two-year programme, the students would have been trained in a wide range of technical and management skills.
