PUDUKOTTAI: The district unit of the Tamil Nadu High and Higher Secondary Graduate Teachers’ Association has urged the State Government to implement an uniform education pattern throughout the State with immediate effect. A resolution adopted at its meeting here on Saturday said that the existing multi streams of education such as the Tamil Nadu State Board of School Education system , matriculation pattern etc., would result in a lopsided development in the State’s educational scenario. The State Government should immediately introduce the uniform education programme and ensure its strict implementation, the resolution said. Another resolution pleaded with the State Government to scrap the contributory provident fund (CPF) scheme currently in vogue. It also urged the Education Department to fill up all the posts lying vacant in the schools. Earlier, the following were elected office-bearers of the association: T. Ramamurthy - president; K. Thangappa and R. Ganesan – vice-presidents; G. Jayabalan - secretary; A. Selvendran - treasurer; R. Manavalan and M. Ramachandran - joint secretaries; K. Sugantha - women organiser.
