VIJAYAWADA: Speakers at a conference on ‘Dissemination of space technology for agriculture development’ organised by the Andhra Pradesh State Remote Sensing Applications Centre here on Saturday stressed the need for taking the benefits of remote sensing and such advanced technologies to farmers. Rural Water Supply Minister P. Venkateswara Rao, who inaugurated the conference, said all measures were being taken to help areas that needed special attention with regard to water supply and crop management. “Such areas have been identified and the Government is committed to help the farmers. Modernisation of Krishna delta is on the cards,” he assured the farmers. T. Hanumantha Rao, consultant to the United Nations, presided Federation of Farmers Association Krishna district president Y. Hanumantha Rao attended.
