BANGALORE: Armed men murdered an employee of Cadbury (India) Ltd. and robbed him of a mobile phone in Vijayanagar police station limits in the early hours of Saturday. The police said the assailants had stabbed Krishnachari (32) in the chest. His body was found lying on 10th Main, RPC Layout. The police identified the body on the basis of Krishnachari’s identity card. Around 5 a.m. Krishnachari, a resident of 6th Main, RPC Layout, left his house to catch the company cab to reach his factory on Nelamangala Road. He was a machine operator. Suicides
Four persons committed suicide in as many incidents in the city on Friday night. The police said that due to personal reasons Kusumalatha (23) committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Kalidasa Layout in Hanumanthanagar police station limits. She was the wife of Somashekar, proprietor of a mobile phone shop. Hema (28), a housewife who was suffering from asthma, consumed poison and ended her life at her house in Bandepalya in Madivala police station limits. In another incident reported from Madivala police station limits, a debt-ridden carpenter, Yelumalai (35), committed suicide by hanging himself at his house in NGR Layout on Hosur Road. Following a quarrel with his wife, Shankar Singh (35), a resident of Garvebavipalya on Hosur Road, hanged himself from a ceiling fan at his house. Accidents
Ponnamma Wilson (40) was killed on the spot when a lorry hit her moped near Jalahalli Cross around 3 p.m. on Friday. The Yeshwanthapur traffic police have registered a case. Two persons were killed on the spot when a lorry rammed a stationary tanker on Bangalore-Mysore Highway in Bidadi police station limits on Friday evening. The police gave the names of the dead as Venkatesh (32) and Rudresh (22).
