Man feared drowned in the sea on the Marina

CHENNAI: A 23-year-old man, who entered the waters at Marina beach near MGR Memorial, was missing. A complaint in this regard was lodged with Anna Square police. According to police, the man, G. Kamal Malik, hailing from Rajasthan, was working in a private company in Saidapet as a labourer.

On Friday, he and six others came to the beach in the evening. All of them entered the water around 5 p.m. An hour later, when the group came out of the water, Kamal Malik was missing.

Further investigation is on.

DVDs seized

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police seized 475 pirated DVD copies of several movies, and arrested one person in this connection.

A release from the CCB said that, following specific information, a raid was conducted in a house in Vyasarpadi, where they seized two DVD writers, pirated DVD copies of English, Tamil and Telugu movies besides MP3 audio CDs. Police arrested K. Umar Mukthar (21).

The seized materials were valued at Rs 3.69 lakh.
