Likely to file nomination on June 23

NEW DELHI: Rajasthan Governor Pratibha Patil is likely to file her nomination for the Presidential election on June 23 or 25.

An authoritative source said, "A final decision has not yet been taken, but most likely Ms. Patil will file her nomination papers on June 23 or 25."

Ms. Patil emerged the surprise candidate of the United Progressive Alliance on Thursday and the Left parties and the Bahujan Samaj Party immediately declared their support for her.

The group commands the requisite 50 per cent plus of the total votes in the electoral college.
