Kanpur : Better late than never. This was the reaction of Indian National Army (INA) veteran Lakshmi Sehgal to the nomination of Pratibha Patil for the Presidential election. ``At least now, top leaders of the Congress have decided to nominate a woman candidate for the highest post in the country,'' the 93-year-old, who fought the last Presidential election, said. Capt. Sehgal, who led the Rani Jhansi Regiment of Netaji Subash Chandra Bose's INA, contested the 2002 Presidential poll as the Left Front candidate against A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. ``I'm not worried about myself, but I am happy that the country may elect its first woman President. I could not reach the post, but another woman can...,'' Ms. Sehgal said and wished Ms. Patil the best. PTI
