Autorickshaw drivers threaten agitation

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD:Anti-Auto Digital Meters Struggle Committee on Saturday announced that it would launch an agitation programme against corruption in Transport, Police and Weights and Measures departments and the mandatory installation of digital meters in auto-rickshaws.

The Transport department in a bid to present a biased picture on the digital meters is pressurising the State Government to rush through the Digital Meters Study report. City Police and Weights and Measures departments were only interested in collecting bribes and were responsible for manipulation in the mechanical auto meters, alleged Committee leader Mohd. Amanullah Khan in a statement.
