KOLKATA: The Indian boys’ compound bow team added one more gold on the final day to the three individual gold medals won earlier in the five-day, second Asian junior archery championship at the Taiwan Archery Range on Tuesday. India also annexed two more silver medals in the boys’ and girls’ recurve bow event to take the final tally to four golds, two silvers and as many bronze medals. The compound team of Abhishek Verma, Sumit Mishra and Sonam Pintso Lepcha, defeated Hong Kong 211-192 in the final, according to information received here. The two silvers came when the recurve boys’ team, comprising Rajib Basumatary, Prabhat Kandir and A. Raju lost to Chinese Taipei 210-211. The girls’ recurve trio of V. Pranitha, Rosie Lalremliana and Nisha Rani Dutta also lost to Chinese Taipei in the final 203-184. India’s three individual gold medals came through Rajib Basumatary (boys’ recurve), Abhishek Verma (boys’ compound) and Namita Yadav (girls’ compound). — Special Correspondent
