NTPC to foray into nuclear power

NEW DELHI: The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) on Tuesday announced that it was ready to foray into nuclear power generation and hoped to put in place 2,000 MW projects by the end of the XI Plan.

It also declared that it would strive to enhance its share in hydro power generation to 12 per cent by the end of the XII Plan to maintain a balance of ratio between thermal and hydro sectors, NTPC Chairman T. Sankaralingam said.
