CHANDIGARH: The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam has decided to release all pending connections to public water works before July 31 to ensure adequate water supply in rural and urban areas. An official spokesman said here on Tuesday that the Nigam would also erect new 11 KV level feeders to ensure independent power supply to Government hospitals, Community Health Centres and Primary Health Centres on a priority basis. He said the Nigam had made a comprehensive plan to implement metering on distribution transformers for proper energy audit. It is proposed to install 86,757 distribution transformer meters at a cost of Rs.205 crore and the scheme has been sent to the Rural Electrification Corporation for approval. And to speed up release of new connections to the applicants, the Nigam would evolve a strategy to cut down the time for completion of formalities and the proforma would be simplified, he added. Meanwhile, the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam plans to construct 37 new sub-stations of 33 KV level and augment the capacity of 10 existing sub-stations of 33 KV level in Sirsa, Fatehabad, Hisar, Bhiwani, Mahendragarh, Rewari, Mewat, Gurgaon and Faridabad districts during the current financial year. An official spokesman said the Nigam would lay additional 20,200 km. of power distribution lines. The emphasis is on segregation of rural domestic load from rural agricultural load, he added.
