MUMBAI: Income Tax authorities on Tuesday conducted search operations on the Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX), one of the leading commodity exchanges in the country, its associates and other MCX offices nationwide. Without naming the MCX, the authorities said they were conducting search at a commodity exchange and its associates in Mumbai and surveys were also being conducted on the exchange’s branches in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, New Delhi and Kolkata.

However, an MCX officialtermed it a routine one.
