KOZHIKODE: The Mopla Song Lovers’ Association will celebrate its 30th anniversary with various programmes. A meeting presided over by V.K. Moidu Haji, president, Kerala State Mopla Song Lovers’ Association, decided to conduct competitions in traditional art forms such as Kolkali, Oppana, Dafmuttu, Aravanamuttu and Mappilappattu. The objective is to popularise these traditional art forms among the younger generation. A seminar will also be conducted. Organising panel
A 201-member organising committee has been set up for the conduct of the celebrations with Mr. Moidu Haji as chairman. P. Ismail, association general secretary, is the general convener and Kattayat Venugopal the treasurer.
