BANGALORE: The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K) will begin the first round of its centralised counselling (seat selection process) for undergraduate medical and dental courses on June 21 at NMKRV Mangala Mantapa here (near Nanda Theatre), 3rd Block, Jayanagar. Only candidates who appeared for the consortium’s Undergraduate Entrance Test (UGET 2007) and were assigned ranks will be allowed to appear for the counselling and select the seats available under the consortium’s quota. Medical/dental rank-holders from 1 to 900 can select the available seats on June 21, 901 to 2,000 on June 22, 2,001 to 4,000 on June 23 and 4,001 to the last rank, 13,555 on June 24. MBBS seats
A total of 718 MBBS seats will be available under the 40 per cent management quota at an annual fee of Rs. 3.25 lakh in the 14 non-minority medical colleges attached to COMED-K. Another 110 seats will be on offer in two minority colleges. The second and final round for MBBS/BDS seats will be held on July 13 and 14. For dental counselling, 720 BDS seats will be available under the 45 per cent quota in COMED-K’s 26 non-minority member colleges. Another 110 seats will be offered in the two minority colleges, all for an annual fee of Rs. 2.3 lakh. Candidates seeking seats should ensure that they meet all the eligibility requirements stipulated by the Medical Council of India (MCI) for medical, Dental Council of India (DCI) for dental and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for engineering courses. Requirements of the affiliating universities should also be fulfilled. Architecture
For B.Arch. candidates who appeared for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture conducted by the Council of Architecture are eligible to apply. Candidates should produce the required documents with one set of photocopies and a demand draft for the notified fee. The name and TAT number should be mentioned at the back of the Demand Draft for verification at the counselling venue at the time of registration for seat selection. Verification
After verification, all original certificates will be returned to the candidates for submission to the college at the time of admission. These certificates should be attached to allotment letter issued by COMED-K and only the set of photocopies of the documents will be retained.
