HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti has demanded that the State Government abide by the Constitution and implement the Presidential Order, 1975, in letter and spirit for providing employment to locals. TRS President K. Chandrasekhar Rao alleged it had become a habit for Andhra leaders to raise a hue and cry whenever some Government wanted to implement GO 610. “But, the Government should fulfil its commitment as Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy has set the June 30 deadline for implementing GO 610,” he said threatening to lay siege to the State Secretariat if the Government failed to meet the deadline. Mr. Rao on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to High Court Chief Justice G.S. Singhvi urging him to implement GO 610 in the State judiciary as it was nowhere exempted in the Presidential order. The strength of Telangana people in judiciary had gone down significantly over the past five decades, he said urging the Chief Justice to repatriate non-locals in judicial establishments and fill the resultant vacancies with locals. Addressing a press conference, he took objection to the demand from a section of Andhra leaders for creation of supernumerary posts instead of repatriation. “They do not want repatriation on the ground that unemployed Andhra youth will lose job opportunities. What about Telangana youth who are denied their right for long?” he questioned.
