Rightful ownership: Farmers ploughing the land in Nagulapalli village of Sadasivapet mandal in Medak, allegedly occupied by the brother of GUM City international director David Raj.
Sangareddy: Members of four families belonging to Nagulapalli village of Sadasivapet mandal on Tuesday occupied seven acres of land allegedly taken over by the GUM City international director David Raj in the name of development. The farmers had ploughed the land and sown seed with the help of Communist Party of India (Marxist) divisional committee member B.Mallesham. They claimed that land in survey numbers 135 and 137 belonged to them. They said that David Raj had promised that he would construct a school and develop the area but had not done anything. Disparities
Speaking to reporters, Mallesham pointed out that the Paul brothers have been enjoying hundreds of acres of assigned and ceiling land and demanded the district administration to initiate action. He said the survey on the assigned lands and Government lands done by CPI(M) in the district has found largescale disparities between the official version and the ground reality. Meanwhile the CPI(M) activists of the district committee organised a ‘Sava Yatra’ of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy demanding land for the deserving poor. They raised slogans against the Government.
