HUBLI: The Karnataka State Government Daily Wage Employees Federation has set July 10 as deadline for regularisation of the 17,000 daily wage employees in the State. In a release here on Tuesday, federation president K.S. Sharma said that a decision to this effect had been taken at the executive committee meeting of the federation held here on Sunday. Apart from 200 delegates from the district and taluk units of the federation, representatives of Karnataka State SC/ST Daily Wage Employees Union also had taken part in the meeting, he said. Mr. Sharma said that the decision to set July 10 as deadline instead of July 26 was taken after considering the fact the Cabinet had asked the sub-committee headed by Public Works Minister H.D. Revanna to submit its report on regularisation at the earliest. A decision was taken at the meeting to launch “Bangalore Chalo” and an indefinite do or die agitation from July 16, in case the Government failed to regularise the services of the daily wage employees who were appointed after July 1, 1984. It was also decided to continue the agitation by staging a dharna in front of the houses of legislators on June 24.
