BELLARY: The police have arrested 17 more persons, including prime accused Seetarama Gowda, in connection with the double murder that occurred in Hulikunte village in Kudligi taluk, eight months ago, taking the number of arrests to 46. Seetaram Gowda, an advocate, along with 16 others, was reported to be absconding after the murder of Oblesh and M. Pandurangaiah in a group clash that occurred in the village on October 10, 2006. Enmity between Seetaram Gowda and M. Pandurangaiah, a landlord, was said to be the reason behind the murder. Pandurangaiah died on the spot and his brother Oblesh who suffered multiple injuries, died in the hospital. Special teams arrested the accused. Four persons, wanted in the case, are at large, said Mr. Paul.
