HUBLI: Rashtriya Hindu Sena will block the roads leading to Goa from the State in the first week of July in protest against the opposition from that State to the Kalasa-Banduri Nala Project. State president of the sena Pramod Mutalik told presspersons here on Tuesday that agitation of such a kind had become inevitable as Goa had failed to understand the drinking water needs of the people of the State and had continued opposing the project. Mr. Mutalik alleged that an all-party meeting convened by BJP MP Pralhad Joshi on the Kalasa-Banduri Nala Project on Monday was just to fool the people of north Karnataka. The meeting was not the actual reason for Water Resources Minister K.S. Eshwarappa and other BJP MLAs to visit the city. The hidden agenda was to hold a secret conclave of MLAs with the former Union Minister Ananthkumar on the tactics to be adopted to oust Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, he alleged. Mr. Mutalik questioned the rationale behind calling a meeting of only MLAs and MLCs of the Malaprabha Command Area. “There were several organisations that have been actively taking part in the fight for implementation of the project,” he said. Mr. Mutalik alleged that BJP leaders were using a serious issue such as the nala project for the sake of achieving their personal political goals.
