Tension in village over land dispute

Two people are claiming ownership over a piece of land

BIDAR: Tension prevailed in Hokrana village in Aurad taluk on Monday after six persons were injured in a tussle over a piece of land.

Malappa Shankarappa and Dhoolappa Muchalambe started fighting over a piece of land in the village in the morning making claims and counter claims over its ownership. This led to a group clash. Both the groups used weapons to attack on another. Dhoolappa’s supporters reportedly set fire to Malappa’s shop. In turn, Malappa allegedly opened three rounds of fire from a gun. Jayashankar, a supporter of Dhoolappa also fired in the air. However, no one sustained bullet injuries.

Injured

Shankarappa Khankre, Baburao Malage, Naganath Malage, Dhoolappa, Chandrakant Dhoolappa and Suryakant sustained grievous injuries in the clash.

All were admitted to the Government District Hospital and are out of danger, according to the doctor attending on them.

A case has been registered in Aurad Police Station.
