Kharge felicitated

Special Correspondent

GULBARGA: The Gulbarga District Congress Committee on Sunday felicitated president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee M. Mallikarjun Kharge and former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly N. Dharam Singh for steering the party to a historic victory in the Ullal Assembly election.

Replying to the felicitation, Mr. Kharge said the Congress was sweeping across the State and the results in the Ullal Assembly byelection had come as an adrenalin to party workers. The byelection results also proved beyond doubt the growing popularity of the Congress party in the Sstate and if all the party leaders and workers worked unitedly the party can cross any hurdles.

Mr. Kharge said the byelection results proved that the roots of the Congress in the State were deep and could not be undone by any force. The people of the State who were sore with the performance of the coalition Government had shown their preference by pushing the Janata Dal (S) to third place and BJP to the second place.
