Pizzeria employee electrocuted Crime notes

BANGALORE: A 23-year-old man was electrocuted while cleaning the glass panes of a pizzeria in Banaswadi police station limits on Monday night.

The police gave his name Satya Shiva of Tirupattur in Tamil Nadu. He was an employee of the pizzeria situated at HBR Layout. Around 10.30 p.m. Shiva climbed a steel ladder and cleaned the glass panes of the building. While he was carrying the ladder inside the building, it came in contact with a live electric wire and he was electrocuted, the police said. He was living in a room on the second floor the same building. The Banaswadi police have registered a case.

Cash stolen

Thieves made away with Rs. 2 lakh in cash from the utility box of a construction company employee’s scooter in R.T. Nagar police station limits on Tuesday.

The police said that around noon Ranjith Kumar, an engineer with a construction company, withdrew Rs. 2 lakh from the ICICI Branch in Ganganagar and put the cash in the utility box of his scooter. He then went to a nearby travel agency to book air tickets. When he returned to his scooter a few minutes later, he found the cash gone.

Burgled

Thieves struck at a business establishment in City Market police station limits on Monday night and looted Rs. 1.37 lakh in cash. The police said the thieves had entered Nikhil Stores in Mamoolpet by breaking open the door lock. On a compliant by the proprietor, Prakash, the police have registered a case.

Suicide

Upset that her parents had not given enough dowry to her husband, a woman committed suicide by hanging herself at her house in Rajagopalanagar police station limits on Monday.
