NEW DELHI: A 30-year-old man has been arrested at New Lajpat Rai Market here for allegedly being in possession of fake currency worth Rs. 10,000. According to the police, Sikender Ansari purchased a T-shirt from a hawker in the market on Monday and gave him a fake Rs. 500 note. The hawker reported the matter to a constable on patrol duty. The constable frisked Ansari and allegedly seized 19 more fake notes of Rs. 500 denomination each. During interrogation, he purportedly told the police that he had procured the currency from one Jameel.
