Two held on burglary charge

KOCHI: The Ernakulam Town Central Police on early on Tuesday arrested two persons on charges of breaking into a godown at T.D. Road and stealing fans worth Rs.80,000.

Those arrested were identified as Babu, 24, of Kattakada, Thiruvananthapuram, and Hussain, 33, of Thenkasi. The accused were arrested from Market Road in possession of nearly 100 fans. They were involved in many robbery cases and had been convicted before.

They were arrested by a team comprising G. Venu, Circle Inspector, and K.N. Gopalakrishnan, sub-inspector and led by P.M. Varghese, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Ernakulam).

Students arrested

Three students of Maharaja’s College were arrested for causing damage to college canteen, attacking a canteen employee and destroying the food there.

Those arrested were Anil, 23, student of MA Second Year (Malayalam), Ajilesh, 23, student of MA Second Year (Philosophy) and Girish, 20, student of MA Final Year (History). They were found to be drunk at the time of incident. Those arrested were presented before the court on Monday.
