KOCHI: The Kerala Muslim Jamaat Council has threatened to organise agitations in protest against the land allegedly taken over by the Government. Council general secretary A. Pookkunju said here on Wednesday that Muslims had set up an Arabic college and school on 8 acres of land at Aluva west village, distributed to the community by kings during the erstwhile royal regime. The Government had initiated steps to take over the land in 1993 through an order. He demanded that the Government demolish the guest house and other Government offices on the land. The council said it would organise a dharna in front of the offices on June 23.
