Puducherry: Chief Minister N. Rangasamy launched environment-friendly range of desktops recently at the Wipro Ltd at Tiruvandarkoil near here. A release from the company said that Wipro Infotech (India, Middle East and Asia Pacific IT business unit of Wipro Ltd) was the first Indian company to launch environment friendly range of desktops, Wipro Green Ware, which included laptops also, which were in agreement with the ROHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) norms to reduce the e-waste substantially. The company had set up its e-waste management process called Wipro Green Computing, which spanned across its product lifestyle — from designing, manufacturing right up to the final disposal. General Manager of the company here Rajesh Narang was also present.
