NALGONDA: ‘Hundi’ collections at Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple at Yadagirigutta registered a record income of over Rs.40 lakhs on Wednesday. “For the first time in the history of the temple, also known as Telangana Tirupathi, the ‘hundi’ collections in the last 30 days reached a staggering Rs.40,47,385,” temple Executive Officer S.Kondal Rao said in a press release. The latest hundi counting bettered the previous record of Rs.36,12,983 in 35 days. Eighty-six grams of gold and 4.8 kg sliver ornaments were also found in the Hundi. Summer vacation was said to be the reason for the heavy rush of pilgrims. Amenities
Mr. Rao further said that efforts were on to improve amenities for devotees. The temple’s founder family trustee B. Narasimha Murthy expressed happiness over the record collections.
