Kadapa MP to visit the training camp on June 25 Water conservation and yoga will also be taught
Nation’s might: NCC cadets at the training camp in Kadapa.
KADAPA: Commanding Officer of 30 Andhra NCC Battalion Col. Rajiv Manchanda on Thursday called upon NCC cadets to gear up for safeguarding the country. Speaking after inaugurating a 10-day annual training camp here, he said NCC certificates would help them gain employment, besides respect and recognition. Five hundred and twenty cadets of Kadapa district, 80 from Nellore, 70 from Chittoor and 50 from Tirupati attended the camp. Training
The cadets would be imparted training in ceremonial drill, weapon training, firing, map reading, yoga, karate, general knowledge, social service, tree plantation and organising blood donation camps, Col. Manchanda said. Collective efforts were needed to achieve set goals and individual efforts would yield limited fruits, he said. Training in long range firing would commence on June 22, traffic control rally on June 24 and rock-climbing in Palakonda hills on June 25, he said. Kadapa Member of Parliament Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy would visit the training camp on June 25. The cadets would be enlightened on the need for conservation of rain water and potable water. Yoga classes would be held daily. Awareness sessions on AIDS and cancer would be held on June 27. A blood donation camp would be held on June 29. Joint Collector Kanthilal Dande would address on national integration and culture and traditions of Andhra Pradesh on June 28. The cadets would plant saplings in Kadapa Municipal Corporation area from June 28 to 30. Deputy Camp Officer Devarajan, Lt. Pushpa Giridhar and NCC officials Kulasekhar Reddy, Subbanarasaiah, Vijayabhaskar and Mohd. Ali Basha participated.
