Bangalore: Photography “lacks respect” as a fine art in the country, feel the founders of Drishti School of Photography. To turn this notion around and kindle an interest in the subject, the school presents Goutam Basak, who will share his expertise and experience with students whose works will then be exhibited, and even valued and sourced by art directors.
The school, which has an eclectic group of students already, ranging from IT professionals who want to develop a hobby into something more serious, to professional graphic artists and entrepreneurs, will soon be a full-fledged institute with a permanent art gallery of exhibits.
The school is hosting its third group exhibition, “Gurudakshina”, from June 25 to 30 at the Chitrakala Parishat. For details call Ph: 080-23637347.
