CPI(M) objects to Nandigram remark
Staff Reporter
Bangalore: The Bangalore District Committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) has taken objection to the reported statement of Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy that the CPI(M) has no right to fight for the cause of the poor in the State because it is responsible for the deaths of farmers and the poor at Nandigram in West Bengal.
CPI(M) district president Prakash K. told presspersons here on Thursday that Mr. Kumaraswamy had no idea about what transpired at Nandigram. There was no need for the CPI(M) to learn ethics from Mr. Kumaraswamy, who could not even explain the logic behind the Government’s decision to auction land recovered from encroachers. If he had any concern for the poor he should the auction of government land immediately, Mr. Prakash said.
