GUNTUR: The country’s economic and technological growth is directly related to how well our education system functions, Union Minister of State for Human Resources Daggubati Purandhareswari has said. Participating in a series of functions in Gurazala Assembly constituency on Thursday, she said education does not mean only reading academic books, but developing good personality and getting comprehensive knowledge on all aspects of life was important. She opened an approach road laid at a cost of Rs.2 lakh from main road to High School at Pulipadu in the mandal. She also opened another 3.4 km. road laid with NABARD grants at Srinivsapuram. She also laid foundation for a drinking water plant to be set up Naandi Foundation and a TTD Kalyana Mandapam at Pulipadu. India has a large reserve youth power, which should be channelled properly by guiding them into becoming complete citizens, she added. Narsaraopet MP Mekapati Rajamohan, Civil Supplies Minister Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy, Minister for Ports and Investments Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, ZP Chairperson Kuchipudi Vijaya, Sarva Sikha Abhiyaan and Education Minister Murugudu Hanumantha Rao along with a host of MLAs participated.
