VISAKHAPATNAM: The five-day Vaggeyakara festival of Andhra Music Academy will begin at Kalabharati on Friday. Eminent musicians would perform at the festival with each day dedicated to the great Vaggeyakaras – Ramadas, Annamacharya, Thyagaraja, Syamasastry and Deekshitar in that order, according to joint secretary of the academy G. Prabhakar. Entry to the festival is free. He said that the academy was conducting free music classes at three centres each in Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad. Some 200 girls and housewives were learning at the centres in Visakhapatnam and 400 children attending classes in Hyderabad.
