Held for chain snatching

NEW DELHI: Two alleged chain snatchers and a receiver of stolen property have been arrested by the Special Staff of the North-West Delhi police. The police claim to have seized a country-made pistol from one of the accused. The accused have been identified as Sunny (18), Brij Mohan (18) and Bunty Tanwar (22). While Bunty is said to be a receiver of stolen property, the other two accused snatched chains in the Capital and Haryana.

Three arrested for robbery

NEW DELHI: Three persons allegedly involved in a robbery at Mandir Marg here last month have been arrested by the Special Staff of the North-West Delhi police. Acting on a tip-off that some criminals had gathered at Alipur, a team led by Inspector Rajpal Dabas laid a trap and arrested three persons, Santosh, Ajay and Udai Singh, this past Sunday. During interrogation, they purportedly disclosed that they were into screen- printing job. After finishing their work, they would gather every evening at Jhandewalan or Dwarka and commit robbery. The police said the accused had also robbed a cameraman of a news channel in May.

Woman to get compensation

New Delhi: A woman suffering from certain neurological disorder but treated for TB following wrong MRI scan reports, has been awarded a compensation of Rs 2.25 lakh by the State Consumer Commission as it held the scanning centre guilty for deterioration in her health. “The only inference is that either the doctor at the scan centre did not possess such skill that was required to distinguish between images of kinds of neurological disorders or he was negligent in giving reports,” the Commission said.
