Cancellation of flights leads to commotion

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: There was commotion at the airport here on Thursday evening after a private airliner cancelled its flights to Ahmedabad and New Delhi.

Angry passengers got into an altercation with the ground staff of the private airliner.

Taken to task

Sources said that the irate passengers took the Spice Jet employees to task when the airliner announced cancellation of its flight to Ahmedabad and New Delhi scheduled to leave Bangalore late in the evening.

The flight had to be cancelled as the incoming Spice Jet flight from Mumbai-Pune had to be cancelled after the aircraft returned to Pune following a technical snag, the sources said.

Snag

The sources said that the Bangalore-bound flight from Mumbai, which had picked up passengers from Pune, had to return back to Pune after developing a technical snag.

Arrangements

“While alternative arrangements were made to some passengers on Thursday evening itself, others will be helped to reach their destination on Friday,” the sources added.
