Bangalore: The State Government has decided to extend the period of the consensus agreement reached with the private professional colleges on fee structure and seat sharing for admission to medical, dental and engineering courses. Minister for Higher Education D.H. Shankaramurthy called on Governor T.N. Chaturvedi in this regard at the Raj Bhavan on Friday. The Minister requested the Governor to sign an Ordinance to keep the agreement valid this year too. The legislature passed a Bill on admissions to professional courses last year. The Bill is yet to be given effect to as it has not been signed by the Governor. — Special Correspondent
