DHAKA: Dhaka and New Delhi are set to begin two-day Foreign Secretary-level talks here on June 25 after over two years. Among other issues, the two nations are likely to take up longstanding issues such as trade, border demarcation, water sharing and security concerns for negotiated solutions. The talks will be the first formal dialogue after the military-backed caretaker Government took charge in January. Officials said a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to remove non-tariff barriers and restart Secretary-level talks was likely to be signed during the talks. Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon will arrive here on June 24 to hold talks with Bangladesh Foreign Secretary-in-charge Touhid Hossain. The Foreign Secretary-level talks are expected to bring up the two multi-billion dollar investment proposals from the Tatas and Mittals.
