Nuclear scientist hospitalised

Mumbai: Eminent nuclear scientist Dr. P.K. Iyengar has been hospitalised following discomfort in the chest, according to family sources.

The 76-year-old scientist is in the Intensive Care Unit of Jaslok hospital for suspected chest infection.

He was admitted on Thursday night and is under observation, the sources added.

Dr. Iyengar, a former chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, is among the top nuclear scientists of the country who is associated with the ongoing negotiations of the Indo-U.S. civilian nuclear deal. —PTI
