One killed, 11 injured in grenade attacks

IMPHAL: One person was killed and 11 were injured in two grenade attacks by militants at Tura and a nearby locality in Meghalaya.

Security forces meanwhile nabbed five militants from different parts of Manipur on Friday. The night blockade of the national highway by the Khasi Students’ Organisation protesting against uranium mining turned worse as the volunteers started throwing petrol bombs on vehicles.

Security measures have been taken to bring the situation under control.
