Against transfer of 325 of them to distant places which lack bus services
TIRUNELVELI: A section of the teachers of Tirunelveli Diocese of Church of South India observed a fast here on Saturday condemning their transfer to “far away places.”
The protestors said that 325 teachers, including a physically challenged woman and some others who had undergone major surgeries, were transferred last week to schools in distant places, which were not frequently connected by bus services.
Since some schools where they had been posted do not have adequate student strength, getting salaries would be laborious since their postings had to be approved afresh by the officials of Education Department, the protestors said.
Hence the CSI Bishop should intervene immediately to find an amicable solution to this problem at the outset, they said.
